"Jacob Seyer's new album, Western Skies, is full of fire, grace, and beauty, with compositions rich in rhythmic and harmonic interest."

           - Brian Clark, Minor 7th

Melodically interweaving, rhythmically complex, and energetic with storytelling, Jacob Seyer’s debut CandyRat Records release, “Western Skies” chronicles the experience of discovering a new home in the Pacific Northwest, recovering from years of upheaval, and adjusting to life with family and friends through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nostalgia, present-mindedness, and personal growth all play large roles in Jacob’s music. “Western Skies” builds on the story of “Migration,” one of uproot and tragedy, telling a story of recovery and fulfillment, returning Jacob to his artistic roots.

"Amazing guitar work, truly original approach to the acoustic guitar by this talented guitarist/composer...

The music is deep, multi-layered, and goes beyond the popular trends we now hear in acoustic (steel) guitar music..."

“I first met Jacob at the Vancouver International Guitar Festival 2018 and again in 2019. I was blown away by his style of music, his humour, and his overall kind spirit...

Jacob’s the best teacher I have ever had and I hope anyone reading this will come to support him in his music and/or learn from him.”
